Port Monmouth is a census-designated place and unincorporated area located within Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP population was 3,818.[3]

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 3,742 people, 1,289 households, and 964 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,833.1 people per square mile (1,094.5/km2). There were 1,358 housing units at an average density of 1,028.2/sq mi (397.2/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.70% White, 1.28% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.43% Asian, 1.15% from other races, and 1.26% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.95% of the population.

There were 1,289 households out of which 38.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.7% were married couples living together, 12.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.2% were non-families. 21.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.39. 99% of the population in Port Monmouth.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 27.4% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 32.3% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.5% who were 65 years of age or older.
